CardMaker Blog Hop

Welcome to the CardMaker Blog Hop!  Today the theme is Graceful Leaves and we created cards celebrating the first day of autumn!  This is my favorite time of the year...the mornings are cooler and the leaves are beginning to change color creating their beautiful spectrum of fall colors.

For my card, I used the Penny Black Foliage Fancy stamp.  I stamped the leaves using Versafine Oynx Black onto an ivory piece of card stock and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I sponged liberally with Distress inks.  I added a sentiment using Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two.

Be sure to check out the inspiration from the rest of the team.  I know that I am looking forward to seeing the fall cards everyone created!!

TCM: Vintage Clock Preview

Hello!  I am excited to be previewing Nina's newest stamp set for The Craft's Meow Vintage Clock.  This is a beautiful new clear stamp set in Nina's ever classy style.  I used Memento Nautical Blue and Toffee Crunch and alternately stamped the clock image.  If you look close you can see that I did a bit of scoring in the center, wrapped with twine and cinched it with a button.

I am entering this card into the Card Design Handbook Week: The Repetition Challenge.

Also, wanted to confirm with my dear followers that I am thrilled to say I am joining the Scor-Pal design team!  Very excited to be joining these creative designers and LOVE my Scor-Pal products!  I met Diana Crick back at CHA in 2011 (interestingly enough with Nina) and thrilled to be working with her amazing products!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

I made some Lemon-Poppy Seed Zucchini Bread and using stamps/dies packaged it for gift giving.  I used the leaves from Foliage Fancy (a stamp set illustrated by Nina for Penny Black) and combined it with a sentiment from Sew Lovely (The Craft's Meow).  The tag was made using Spellbinders dies: Home Sweet Home.

Here are the products I used for my project:

SNSS Fall Frenzy Blog Hop

Hello stamping friends!!  We are so excited about Fall arriving soon that we've decided to celebrate the season with a Fall Frenzy Blog Hop & Virtual Stamp Day!
The Design Divas have created some fabulous eye candy for you featuring our wonderful selection of Fall stamps so we hope you'll hop along with us today!
Be sure to stop along the way because we'll be drawing one lucky commenter from a random DT blog to win a $25 credit to the store!!

Today I am showcasing two Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sets and first is Leaf Silhouettes:
I love the solid leaf image in this stamp set and used Big Brush markers from Design Memory Craft to color directly on the stamp for the leaves.  I did a bit of combining colors to mimic the fabulous colors God reveals through the fall season as the leaves slowly change colors.  I did a bit of flicking (by coloring on my craft mat with a brown marker, spritzing with water, and picking up the color with a water color brush) to fill in a bit of the "white" space.

Don't you just love the fall colored M&M's that are showing up in stores???  I accented this little treat container using some Simple Stories patterned paper, Spellbinders dies and a sentiment from the stamp set:
And the other fall stamp set I am showcasing is Autumn Leaves:
For this card, I scored a piece of Ivory card stock every 1/4" and stamped the leaves using Versafine ink.  I colored them using Big Brush markers and sponged over it with Old Paper distress ink.  Then I stamped over it with Friendship Script.  Love the "tile" like design to the background!!!

Here's the list of blog participating in today's hop:

When you're done hopping be sure to join us for a fun day of challenges over in our Splitcoaststampers forum.  We're giving away some fun prizes, too, so don't miss it! We look forward to seeing your fabulous Fall creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Giving Thanks

Hi!  Today I have a card to share that I made for the SCS Sketch challenge.  I used the leaves from Season of Change and the sentiment is from Leaf Silhouettes.  Notice the patterned paper???  It is from Farmhouse, a new paper company which is quickly becoming a new favorite.  I scored the horizontal layer with my Scor-Buddy before adhering it to the ivory card stock to add a bit of interest.

Also wanted to let you know that Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is having a Fall Frenzy Blog Hop this Friday!  Hope you can hop along and play along with the challenges over on SCS.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Scored Kindness

Today I have a card to share that I made for the current  Scor-Pal design team call.  I created this cool grid using my Scor-Buddy and even scored the Kraft panel behind it.

The grid is super easy to create!
To start with I used my Scor-Buddy to create a 1/4-inch grid on a  3 1/2 x 4 1/2 ivory panel of card stock as seen here by scoring every 1/4 inch (both horizontally and vertically):

Then I stamped the Floral Thread background stamp (Penny Black) onto the scored panel. Love the tiled look it creates:

In order to highlight the tiled look, I sponged it with Tea Dye distress ink being careful not to press too hard on the scored panel:

Here is a close-up:

After I had sponged the panel I adhered it to the red card stock using 1/4" Scor-Tape.

Background stamps are fun and easy to use with this technique, but smaller stamps work as well. I am thinking next time I will do it with leaves in autumn colors...and snowflakes would be fun too!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Exciting news...

I have some news I am excited to finally share....you can see more HERE.  Here's a hint:

Obviously, I am thrilled to be a part of the blog team and have quite of few things I am working on to share with you soon!
Now on to my card for today....
I have been so hooked on stencils lately and this one (Swiss Dots) particularly from The Crafter's Workshop and combined it with some Penny Black stamps (Social Butterfly and the sentiment from Petal Party).  The only techniques on this one per se is a bit of embossing and lots of sponging.  Do you see the new Spellbinders dies (Asian Accents)...oh my, these are such a FAV and are getting broken in quite nicely!

Minty Fresh Challenge

Today I have a card to share that I made for the Minty Fresh Challenge over on Moxie Fab. Loved the mint/brown dress in the blog post and drew my inspiration from that...as well as Chocolate Mint ice cream (my hands down favorite ice cream!).

For my card, I was inspired by the September sketch challenge on The Craft's Meow blog. I used the Swiss Dots stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and combined it with some favorite stamps from The Craft's Meow (Lovely Labels 18 and Sew Happy).  I also used the coordinating Spellbinders dies, including Nina's Sewing Elements.
