Play Date Cafe Challenge

I made this square card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge this week using some stamps that retired from Layers of Color and I *think* I saw something similar coming from Penny Black soon!!!  Eeks....  Looks like Nina Brackett's style to me :)

I stamped the image using Versamark ink and then sponged heavily with Memento ink, gently rubbing over the embossing to make it pop.  The background was stenciled using Belle Brocade (also retired, boo-hoo) using the two inks as well.  Anyone know of a damask stencil similar??  This was my hands down favorite and would love to get some for upcoming classes.  I added some Want2Scrap bling to each of the centers on the brocade that are showing as well as to the corners of the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square die.

Hope you can play along with the PDCC this week:

Java Time

A quick card to share today that I made using coffee4two (from the Stamps of Life), my favorite stencil Swiss Dot from The Crafter's Workshop and some fun new chevron stripes die-namics!   I sponged the stencil using Memento Rich Cocoa ink and added a quick sentiment with Lady Bug.
I am on my way out the door to an overnight ladies retreat and thought I would surprise hubby with a little card in the morning.  Tomorrow he only has to make one pot of coffee versus two since I will be gone... He drinks decaf...I do not, hence two coffee pots:)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

And of course, there will be prizes up for grabs! You will find more info below, but first...here is my project:

I used the The Craft's Meow stamp set Mother and Father and paired it with the Spellbinders dies Sewing Elements and the little heart from Home Sweet Home.  The patterned paper is Every Day Moments from Teresa Collins and love the blue/yellow color combination.  I stamped the sentiment using Memento Paris Dusk just above the sentiment on the patterned paper of {memories} what I will remember most... which I found most fitting.

For the sewing machine die cut itself, I stamped the dots from Vintage Backgrounds using Memento Cantaloupe ink onto Sweet Corn cardstock prior to die cutting.  Here is a close-up of the sewing machine die cut:

Adding a little Want2Scrap Beautiful Bling Borders Endless Waves to the base of the sewing machine.

THE CHALLENGE: If you choose to participate in the challenge, create a new project that uses two die cuts. They don't have to come from two different die cut sets. Happy Mother's Day

Today I have another quick card I made for A Blog Named Hero Challenge #1 Play Favorites.  I recently picked up Happy Mom's Day at my LSS and used the Word Pops cling stamp to create a fun background with Memento Bahama Blue on Kraft cardstock.  I am thinking this design will work real well for an upcoming stamp class I am teaching.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

A Special Note

I was able to get a little bit of stamping time this weekend and was excited to play with some new stamps I got from The Craft's Meow.  I love Nina's style of design and used three different stamp sets on this card: Beautiful Spring, Sent with Love, and Lovely Labels 18.  I also used some My Mind's Eye patterned paper, bling from Want2Scrap and used Memento Bahama Blue ink.  I am not quite confident enough in my Copic coloring skills so just lightly colored the butterfly with a light blue/yellow Copic.

Recently my LSS had a yard sale for crafters and have to say I LOVE recycling my goodies!  I was able to clean out/sell quite a bit and gain some store credit for future purchases and best of all... finally able to complete my Memento ink collection.... (added the blue I used on the card above) and am set until the new colors become available.  Can't wait to see those in person!!  LOVE my Memento ink!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Special to Me

I have another quick to share that I made for A Blog Named Hero Challenge #1 Play FavoritesI used my favorite floral image from Hero Arts called Classic Tea Flower, which I stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Aquarelle watercolor pencils.  Then I masked the image and spritzed the panel with Tsukineko Bamboo Leaves Firework spray using the 6x6 Mini Swiss Dot stencil (which I LOVE!!!) from The Crafter's Workshop.  Definitely two of my new favorite crafty finds and looking to spritzing some more again soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day and a blessed Easter!

Happy Birthday

Today I have a very CAS card I made using Tsukineko ink and The Craft's Meow stamps.  The butterfly images are from Beautiful Spring which I inked using VersaMagic ink.   The layout for this was inspired by The Craft's Meow April sketch challenge for this month.  I accented with Spellbinders dies, an SRM Stickers sentiment, and Want2Scrap bling for a CAS design.

Things have been busy with baseball and 2 boys playing Little League this year.  Our youngest is now playing T-ball and it is so precious...he has been waiting for "his time to play" since he started walking, lol!
Here is my little goober before his first practice:

Hoping to get back into the swing of stamping soon.  I have been working on magazine deadlines/card orders, but nothing I can share quite yet :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

CAS: Thank You

A quick card I made for A Blog Named Hero Challenge #1 Play Favorites.  My son needed a quick thank you and kept the color scheme to black, white and brown using Colorbox Chestnut Roan Chalk ink from Clearsnap.
I used the Leaf and Floral Background and Year Round Sentiments two of my favorites from Hero Arts.

I am also entering this into the The Play Date Cafe Challenge:

Sew Lovely and a new challenge blog!

There is a new challenge in "blogland" called Crafty Friends Challenges.  It is hosted by Beate and friends and I know (I for one.... of many stamping peeps) am bookmarking...and hint hint, there are some vintage paper crafting goodies being raffled off.

For my card, I used Sew Lovely and nothing helps me do vintage quite like Webster's Pages patterned paper.  The dress from is a die set from NinaB Designs for Spellbinders called Sewing Elements.  I added some distressing, lace and Want2Scrap bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
