Thrifty Patterned Paper

Just a quick card to share today...  I made this using the stamp sets: Holiday Cheer, Vintage Borders (for the worded background behind the image/sentiment), and Holiday Sentiments. The lined oval is from Spring Mix.  The musical background is actually a piece of sheet music that I crumbled, flattened and sponged with Antique Linen distress ink.  All in all a very easy card to make and LOVE utilizing actual music as  my patterned paper.  You can easily find hymnals or music from thrift stores...

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Card Patterns 87 ~ Merci

I saw the Card Patterns 87 challenge today and managed to squeeze in just a bit of stamping (amongst other things going on here today, lol!)

I used the Rose Blossom Frame Cling Art Stamp (since Layers of Color Art Stamps is now a Spellbinders Preferred Stamp Company this stamp works perfectly with Nestabilities Labels 16).  I paired the frame with the beautiful Embroidered Butterfly Cling Art Stamp and the sentiment is from the clear art stamp Merci Bouquet.  The background was created by sponging Memento Cantaloupe and Fired Brick Distress ink, and stamping the text from Nina's set Vintage Backgrounds in Rich Cocoa.

Here is a closer picture of the butterfly:

The picture doesn't show it as well, but I outlined parts of the butterfly with a Stardust pen, it really sparkles beautifully!

GKD Challenge Team Thank You Hop

Tonight we are having a special blog hop to thank our recently retired StampTV Challenge Hostess Team members:

These 5 designers have provided StampTV with a challenge each week during the months of June, July and August.

Here is a card I made for Carla:

I followed her color challenge of using Black, Ivory and one other color (STVCOLORCS9), which for me was red!  For this card, I used Gifts from the Sea, Lovely Labels and the fabulous crackle stamp from Bold Flowers.

Here is the card I made for Linda:

Grand Damask

I followed her Heat Embossing Challenge in (STVBLASTLP5).  For my card, I used Grand Damask and Fanicful Tags (and the worded background is from Vintage Backgrounds, obviously personal favorite of mine!).  I embossed the damask image using Versamark and a spectrum ink pad.

And here is Giovana's card:

Snowflake

I used Giovana's pink Christmas card challenge Embossing with shades of Pink (STVXMASGS7).  I think I found the design for some Christmas cards this year, lol!  I used the snowflake from Blessed is the Season and the sentiment from Holiday Greetings with Lovely Labels 2

We have a special StampTV Challenge Magazine Volume 3* located on the Freebie Tab, where all of their challenges are shared in a download PDF that you can save to your computer and print out at your leisure!

Please join in our Thank You Discussion on Stamp TV and feel free to play along and say thank you with your own take on one of their challenges!!!

The next stop on this STV Challenge Team Thank You Hop is my dear talented friend....Vicki!

LOC: Embroidered Butterfly

Just a quick card to share that I made with the new Cling Art Stamps from Layers of Color: Embroidered Butterfly.  I combined this card with three different challenges: the sketch from CPS 189, the Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday: Momento Mori, and the color challenge from Just Us Girls #55 (Black, Cream and Kraft).  I added a bit of Webster's Pages patterned paper and used the  Belle Brocade Art Stencil along the bottom of the card.  The Embroidered Butterfly was sponged with Memento Desert Sand ink and then painted with Clear Crackle Paint.  After it dried (and crackled, which is oh so cool looking!!) I sponged some darker brown ink to define the cracking.
Here is a closer look at the butterfly:

Fanciful Fall

Fanciful Fall made its way to my mailbox and I am so impressed with the pre-cut stamps!  Just pop them on acrylic and you are ready to go!!!  Cool beans for one who still has some stamps unused due to needing to be trimmed, lol!

This card was so easy to make... embossed the sentiment, tree and moon and then brayered with an Autumn Spectrum pad.  Very easy and a nice wow effect.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Layers of Color ~ SSCC#61

This week Layers of Color is sponsoring the challenge over on Stampin' Sisters in Christ.  The beautiful clear art stamp set Flutterescent is up for grabs to a random winner and hope you will play along and post a card or project that features prayer.
I paired one of the butterflies from the set with the Cling Art Stamp Victorian Frame.  In fact, did you know that Layers of Color is a Spellbinders Preferred Stamp Company?  We are very excited and looking forward to more great things to come from this partnership!  I also used the Belle Brocade Art Stencil along the bottom of the card.  The butterfly was stamped on patterned paper and  sponged along the edges.  Here is a close up of the butterfly:

The butterfly was stamped twice on the patterned paper and layered with pop dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you will play along with the SSCC!

Life's Moments

One of my favorite stamped sentiments (or sayings) is this one from Timeless Treasures...   The font is beautiful perfectly highlighting the words that carry such promise of the many events in life that truly do take your breath away.  I made the flower with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Sizzix die and stamped the printed pattern from Vintage Backgrounds.   The edges of about everything was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and added some pearls and lace.

It is a busy weekend here starting off with a Little League baseball game tonight.  Our oldest son is in the tournament and hoping to win and go to the Championship Game...  Will see, either way son has had a great season and played his best.  It is one of those "moments" I treasure!  I do hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Layers of Color: Tuesday Trigger

The Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: Languish in Luxurious was one I just had to play along with!  An idea popped into my head right away and wouldn't let go until I put it to paper, love it when that happens.... :o)   I used Touch of Elegance to replicate the damask background on the wall and for the flowers, vase and sentiment used Merci Bouquet.  Both of these sets are Clear Art Stamps from Layers of Color

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Layers of Color: Poinsettia Frame

The Layers of Color Blog Hop was so much fun on Monday!   I have another card to share this time using the gorgeous Poinsettia Frame.  It is one of the Cling Art Stamps that coordinate perfectly with the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 16 dies.   For this card, I paired it with some Basic Grey Jovial patterned paper and colored the image with Copics.

Have you started on Christmas cards? I must admit.....I have not, but it is definitely on my "to-do" list for the next 6 weeks!  My goal is to have them all created by the end of November (and hopefully mailed early December, lol!)

Thanks for stopping by and pray you have a wonderful day!

Lovely Labels 2: Congratulations

Today I have a card to share that I made last week for a dear friend who is expecting!!!! I wanted to post it right when I made it, but wanted to make sure it was public knowledge first ;o)  There is nothing more joyous than the expectation of a new baby and I am so very excited for this dear family.

I made this card using Lovely Labels 2 and Webster's Pages patterned paper.  Love that baby carriage and just had to add an extra butterfly.  On the sentiment label,  I stamped the musical score from Vintage Borders.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a beautiful day!

Welcome to the 7th CSS Gina K. Designs Blog Hop! Can you believe we are at 7 already? This week is a sketch challenge and the inspiration for this sketch came from Deb Felt's card which she created for the last hop.

I made my card using Webster's Pages patterned paper and GKD stamp sets: Fine Furnishings and Fine Furnishings Additions.   I stamped the pattern on the chair using one of the backgrounds from Vintage Backgrounds.

Here is the sketch for this week and sure hope you can play along...

CP84 ~ Just a Note

The Card Patterns sketch this week is a fun one and I went right to my stash of Webster's Pages.  I added the doily image from Nana's Needlework and the Just a Note label is from Lovely Labels 2. Can you tell I like these new labels?   I stamped the label onto a scrap of Webster's Pages and tied a bow with some Navy Organdy ribbon.  I hope to be back a little later with some sneak peeks I created using some of the soon to be released Layers of Color stamps...  Oh my...and that is ALL I can say :o)

STV Color Challenge

I made this for Janice's Color Challenge over on Stamp TV this week.  The colors are In the Navy, Pumpkin Spice, Ivory and a bit of Chocolate Brown (the ribbon).  I used the new Lovely Labels 2 (don't you just love labels that match up with Spellbinders dies....Oh my, I do!)  I also used Vintage Backgrounds and Vintage Borders to  create a background and the sentiment is from Elegant Verses.  The edges were distressed a bit and sponged with Tea Dye Distress ink.  This sentiment means so much when you consider what the Bible teaches about our countenance....

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a beautiful day!

Lovely Labels 2

Vicki over on Stamp TV has a great sketch this week and you can find more details HERE to play along.  For my card,  I used some Graphic 45 Christmas Past patterned paper that my dear BFF Linda surprised me with for my birthday back in August (isn't it a beautiful pattern...oh my,...it is actually hard to cut into, lol!).  I stamped the label (from Lovely Labels 2) directly on the patterned paper and used the reverse side of the patterned paper to layer on Soft Sand/Chocolate Brown card base.  The verse is from Vintage Borders and a favorite to use on Christmas cards.   I am thinking this will be one of the cards I made this year.  I like to make a nice assortment having layered ones to give out personally and more CAS designs for mailing (with some exceptions, lol!)

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have wonderful start to a new week!

Exciting Announcement...

I am a member of the Design Team for Layers of Color - An online boutique where stampers can find unique stamp products and be inspired by fresh out-of-the-box ideas.
My very exciting announcement is....I am joining the Layers of Color Design Team! It was such an honor to be the Guest Designer for the month of September and I enjoyed it immensely.  I have enjoyed getting to know the DT members and LOC stampers via emails and at the SNR group...and they have been such a blessing to me.  We would love to have you join us!   Nina introduced me to Layers of Color and the SNR group via her blog back in the winter (thank you Nina!) and once I placed my first order (which was Merci Bouquet), well... I was hooked.  Just love their Clear Art Stamps and Art Stencils.  I am still pinching myself that I am actually working alongside such a talented Design Team... each DT member brings such an artistic flair to their designs that I am beyond thrilled that I get to join them.

For this card I used two different Art Stencils: Natural Flourish and Bella Brocade, as well as one of the damask images from Touch of Elegance behind the Scripture verse.

I know that Layers of Color has some VERY exciting things coming...(first hint: a new release in a little over a week).  All in all, October is going to be a GREAT month... in fact, the new Guest Designer for October will be announced on October 6th!   Looking forward to seeing what  a certain "somebody" has been working on ;oP

Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me share my news...  I have a busy day of cleaning house and our oldest sons' baseball game this afternoon.  Maybe (just maybe) I can squeeze a little stamp time in...(I will just "clean" my stamp room with the door closed, wink!)
Have a wonderful weekend!

CP83: Lovely Labels 2

I have a card to share using the newest set from Nina: Lovely Labels 2. So stoked about this set...I love anything matching up with Spellbinders dies and these labels are so COOL!  This time I did a first for me....used digi-paper: Vintage Basics Paper Pack also designed by Nina.  So easy to use even for a computer/printer challenged person like me, lol!  For this card I used the sketch from Card Patterns one of my favorite color combos: Brown/Green.  I have an exciting announcement to share tomorrow :o)  I haven't hinted because I am NOT good at keeping secrets, lol!
Have a great day!
Blessings,

Lovely Labels 2

I am just so excited about this new set from Nina Brackett: Lovely Labels 2!  I knew immediately one of the first things I wanted to make was a label for a package of autumn colored M&M's!  Aren't M&M's just better when they are in the seasonal colors?  I put them in one of the nifty clear boxes, wrapped with ribbon and attached a stamped label.  The label was stamped with a spectrum pad to give a cool variance of color.  Just perfect and oh so easy!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
