Sketch Girls #15

Today is the last day of March which means it is time for another FAB-ulous Sketch Girls sketch! This one was so much fun and I managed to use some scraps from my table for this one (always a bonus...because I have plenty being a messy stamper. In fact, Melanie has a great Scrap Challenge on her blog this week...be sure and check that out!).

I used the newest set from Tami called Fairy Tales and paper pieced this adorable frog once more. The sentiment is just too cute and yes....I kissed many a frog (uh-hum...they were really toads, lol!) Not sure it works or not, but I added a heart brad for his lips and maybe if you imagine he is really puckering up it will work :o)

Here is the sketch:

We would love to have you play along with our sketch this week! Be sure to link it up over on the Sketch Girls Blog. One lucky winner will win a $10 Gift Certificate to Phindy's Place

Be sure to check out the rest of the Sketch Girls for even more inspiration: Annie, Julie, Alyssa, Harriet, Tiffany, Randee, Bonnie, Amber, Katie, Jessica, Sara, and our Guest Designer Deanne.

Card Patterns 57

I made this for the Card Patterns 57 challenge. I loved the sketch and will definitely be using this one again and again. The original sketch had an oval (which I love), but I really, really *needed* to use this fun label that matches the Labels 9 die. :o) The stamps are from several different sets: Lovely Labels, Spring Mix STV Kit and Friends. The hardest time I had with this card was finding some matching olive ribbon.... which I finally did at the bottom of my ribbon scrap bin. The patterned paper is some of the new Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety which has some really fun patterns. I do believe Cosmo Cricket is quickly becoming a favorite...(shhh, don't tell Basic Grey, LOL!)
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Tuesday Trigger: Butterfly Dreams

The inspiration for this card came from the Tuesday Trigger Butterfly Dreams challenge over on the Moxie Fab Blog. I just loved the little seersucker plaid dress with the butterfly (it reminds me so much of dresses my daughter used to wear, so precious). The whimsical butterfly is from Fairy Tales which I popped up with pop dots. The background Bubblegum Pink panel I embossed with a Quickutz embossing folder (running it through twice at different angles to create the seersucker pattern, thought that was so cool!!!). Quite a fun card to design and the inspiration piece is just so sweet as you can see....

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have wonderful day...

Fairy Tales: You Shine

I *think* I have a new favorite set of Nesties.... love, Love, LOVE the Big Scallop Nestie sets, oh my goodness are these ever fun! Obviously the oval shape is a huge favorite of mine so had to start with those first, LOL! I used the flower and sentiment from Fairy Tales and the butterfly is from Spring Has Sprung. The flower was paper pieced with some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety (and honestly another new fav...) This is bad, would you call it an addiction? New stamps, Nesties, and Patterned Paper just sets my heart aflutter in a silly kind of way :o) Well, that is enough *silliness* from me today... I hope you have a wonderful weekend...
Blessings,

Card Patterns 56

I made this for the Card Patterns sketch this week. I used the new set from Nina Brackett: Nana's Needlework and adore this basket of yarn. One of my goals in life is that I would love to learn how to knit...I see ladies bring a basket/bag of knitting supplies to waiting rooms and what a perfect way to pass the time while waiting for an appointment as well as a sense of accomplishment in actually making something.

Anyways...on to the card... I used Sweet Corn and Fresh Asparagus cardstock, which matches beautifully with Cosmo Cricket Material Girl patterned paper. The image was colored with Copics and cut out with those fun Nesties Labels Nine dies.

Can you believe it is Thursday already? The week is flying!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day...
Blessings,

A Beautiful Life

I made this card using the new stamp set from Melanie: A Beautiful Life. The sentiments in this set are so beautiful and meaningful that it is a perfect set for cardmaking/scrapbooking. I wanted to create a quick card so stamped this on a piece of Postcards from Paris patterned paper from Webster's Pages and colors the tulips with Copics. The tulips were also outlined with a Stardust pen to create a bit of sparkle.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Moxie Fab Challenge: Diggin' on Doilies & Lace

I made this for the Moxie Fab Challenge: Diggin' on Doilies & Lace and knew when I saw Nina Brackett's set Nana's Needlework that it would be perfect for this challenge...the only problem, I just had to wait to share it until the set was actually released...talk about self-control :o)
I embossed the image and sentiment with Black Detail Embossing Powder and added this beautiful black May Arts lace from Limelight Papercrafts. It is really a simple design but keeps the focus on the intricate pattern of the doily...just love that stamp!!!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Trigger

I made this card for the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab Blog this week. Here was the actual Tuesday Trigger brought by Carolyn King:

I just loved the wicker chair and the pop of green from the pillow. I used three different stamp sets for this one, a label from Lovely Labels, the butterfly from A Beautiful Life (which I popped up with a glue dot in the center), and the sentiment is from Spring Has Sprung. The texture was created with a Cuttlebug folder and lightly sponged with Cocoa Bean ink. Hope you are having a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Spring

Happy Spring is a sweet stamp set perfect for for creating cards/scrapbook pages with a spring theme, especially for those gardeners in your life. It also comes with a free Card Kit which has instructions and materials for making your own cards. I know I bought the February kit and was amazed with the supplies included and loved having the measurements written down so I could recreate a quick card in a jiffy when the need arises and my mojo has taken a vacation :oP

I stamped some patterned paper with the Inspiration Mosaic grid and used that as my background for layering. The images were stamped on another piece of patterned paper and colored with Copics. I am not a gardener (at all), but I figured someone who works in the garden must a little dirty....so sponged some brown ink on the gloves and hat because it would be hard to stay clean, right? ;o)

Oh my goodness so much inspiration and looking forward to stamping this weekend. Just a quick card to share using an image from the Spring Mix STV Kit and the stitching stamp from Nana's Needlework. I used the sketch from Card Patterns this week and wanted a nice bright card. The patterned paper is from October Afternoon Report Card.

Gina K March Release Preview Day 4

Have you enjoyed the sneak peeks at the new releases this month....well hold onto you socks, there are THREE more...
First up is Nana's Needlework and the accessory set Nana's Needlework Sentiments from Nina Brackett:

I absolutely adore this stamp set and recently bought some of the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl patterned paper (which Gina will be adding to her store tonight...eeeks!) I used Lipstick Red and Sweet Corn Cardstock for my card. The wooden shelf has a nice country feel to it and you will love what you can add to it. :o) I had such a hard time sharing just one, but will have several others to share using this set at the release party...

Next up is Rupa Shevde's set Spring Has Sprung which has some adorable images and sentiments:

Is that duck a cutie or what? It just makes me smile which is why one of the sentiments in this set is so sweet. I was in a paper piecing mood and paper pieced the duck taking a ride. The patterned paper is Basic Grey Origins and matches so well with Fresh Asparagus and Sweet Corn.

It has been just a thrill to tag along with the Gina K. Design Team this release and I truly appreciate the opportunity to "walk with the big dogs" :o) Thanks Gina and DT!!!

Gina K March Release Preview Day 3

Are you enjoying the Gina K. Designs previews? I know I am! Tonight we are previewing the new Free with Three stamp set Friends and the Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit....eeks, they are both AMAZing!!!! First up, the set Friends which you will receive free when you order three stamp sets. Friends is just chock full of wonderful "friend" sentiments:

I used mine for the focal sentiment and even combined it with the flower stamp from Fairy Tales...so you get a two for one sneak peek, LOL!

OK, are you ready...I mean really ready for the new Spring Mix Stamp TV Kit... be still your heart because this new kit is overflowing with images and sentiments that is perfect for any beginner and a wonderful compliment to a seasoned stamper's collection...
I was going to share a card I made with the kit, but managed to squeeze in a little more stamp time this afternoon and altered a frame....

I found this frame at a dollar store in our area and was thrilled that it wouldn't require any painting (on the back and sides since it was already pink, cool beans!). I covered the front of it by using some Modge Podge to adhere a piece of patterned paper from October Afternoon Ducks in a Row. Using my handy dandy Stamp-a-ma-jig, I matched up the Ducks in a Row pattern for the center of the baby and colored it with Copics. The scalloped circle was then sponged lightly with pink ink before adhering to the embossed Bubblegum Pink cardstock. I accented the frame with some ribbon and sateen flowers. This was just so easy to put together and makes a great little gift. Now I just need to find a friend having a baby girl....seems everyone I know is having boys :o)

Here is what is included in the Spring Mix STV Kit:

Card Stock:
2 each of Vibrant Violet, Lovely Lavender, Creme de Menthe, Black Onyx and Lemon Drop
3 each of Bubblegum Pink, Little Boy Blue and Chocolate Kiss
6 120lb White
Hint of Spring Digital Pattern Paper:
2 Bubblegum and Creme de Menthe Pattern

white twill
5/8"

Gina K March Release Preview Day 2

The previews last night were just amazing and what a fun blog hop! Well, I am back tonight with two more FABulous stamp sets... First up is Happy Spring, which is the new Card Kit set this month. Just a note about the Card Kits: Each kit will receive the Happy Spring stamp set and instruction sheet along with 4 sheets of pure luxury cardstock, 1 sheet of exclusive patterned paper with 4 different designs, 1 yard of ribbon, and brads. The cardstock will NOT be pre-cut.
For my card, I used one of my favorite images and I just love this saying:

My card base is the new Luxury Cardstock color Little Boy Blue which I paired with Sweet Corn. I used some of the eyelets from the upcoming new Stamp TV Kit (which you will see previews for tomorrow, woo-hoo!!!).

Next is Asela's newest set, By Your Side:

Don't you just love those fish!!! And I used more of the beautiful Little Boy Blue and this time paired it with In the Navy cardstock. I love monochromatic cards and these two colors blend beautifully. The Koi fish were colored with Copics and then embossed with Clear EP to make them shine...just love these fish and the fact they are so very colorful.

Are you ready for even more inspiration?

Gina K March Release Preview Day 1

I am very excited to be working with the amazingly talented Gina K. Designs DT this month! I have had a fabulous time creating with the even more fantabulous (yep, made up a new word) March release stamps that I can hardly stand it!

First up is
A Beautiful Life by Melanie Muenchinger...

Isn't this just soooo Melanie! I am a huge fan of her floral sets and this is such a great set. I stamped on a new color to the Luxury Cardstock selection: Bubblegum Pink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I didn't want to color in all of the tulips so merely outlined them a bit and LOVED the way they popped! The butterflies were embossed on vellum, cut out and popped up with a small glue dot. This was the first card I made and truly...I squealed with delight when it came together just the way I envisioned it :o)

Next Sending Sunshine from Theresa Momber...

...and more embossing! This time on Glossy cardstock and brayered with a spectrum pad. Love the tire swing in this set...so cool! I have many fond memories of swinging on one as a child.

And lastly for this evening... Fairy Tales by Tami Mayberry.

Oh, I just adore the images in this set and can see so many cards and scrapbook pages made with this stamp set! For this card I used Passionate Pink and Black Oynx and made a princess card.

Are you ready for even more inspiration?

Quick card: Lovely Labels

Hello! I am still here...just crazy busy :o) I leave today for a Ladies Retreat over in the mountains and haven't had lots of time for posting/blog hopping and the like. I have however managed to stamp at every opportunity and so excited to show what I have made....but alas, that must wait until Sunday night!!! :o) Eeks, so exciting though...hope you are saving!!!

I love the stamp set Lovely Labels for many reasons, one of which is the ease of making a QUICK card! On days like this, that is what I need... The sentiment is from Inside and Out (the current free with three set). I am not quite sure I like the felt ribbon treatment, but will leave it alone. The felt is too bulky to make a nice bow and so I figured a knot would just have to do.

Well, I am off...I know I get home late on Saturday and even lose an hour of sleep, but I am sure I will be bright and energetic by GKD Blog Hop time! Have a wonderful weekend!

Sweet Blogging Friends and an Award

I have a couple of cards to share today that some sweet friends sent me... I hosted some challenges over on Stamp TV from December- February and the GKD DT and current Challenge Team had a surprise blog hop featuring projects created from our challenges. Quite fun to hop through and a true delight :o)

First is Karen's card and I just love the springy colors, the circle embossing and the way she personalized it, just so sweet! Karen is now hosting the Anything But a Card Challenge over on STV and is so very inspiring each week. Hope you can pop over and give it a try...a new stamp set will be going to one random winner!

The second card is Jessica Fick's which is just beautiful and love her coloring and design. She does elegance like no other and the detail to the inside of her cards is so pretty!

Thank you so much ladies! I am so happy to have one of your creations as my very own and they just make me smile! Speaking of smiling....

Two dear stamping friends Karen and Brenda gave me a Sunshine Award...isn't it pretty. It sure made me smile today... :o)

Thank you so much ladies... Now to pass it on to some bloggers who make me smile. I am so inspired by my blogging friends, thank you so much for your encouraging words and stopping by to see what I have been up to.

Moxie Fab Challenge: Christmas

My wonderful mail lady delivered by Gina K. Designs stamps this past Saturday and I have been wallowing in all of their splendor :o) Yep, I mean *wallowing* and it has been so much fun. AND for your GKD fans...oh my goodness is this going to be a great release... I can't say too much, but AHHHHHHHH :o)))

I did manage to create a card that I can share... (no, not with the new stamp sets...that will be on Sunday night so mark your calendars!)...
Vicki is the new hostess over on STV for the sketch challenge I just love her work and HAD to make a bit of time to create for that... I used Vintage Borders and some favorite GKD colors Kraft and Cranberry Tart together...(yummo!) This also fits the guidelines for the Moxie Fab Olympic Challenge being a Christmas card :o) (love double duty cards)

Well, I have some more creating I need to do with some soon to be released sets...so exciting. So far I have 9 cards made for the release (and I am so excited to share) and so many more ideas in my noggin'.... Have a great day!
Blessings,

Hello Hunny

Laura from Creative Clear Stamps sent me some of her new stamps *hot of the presses* and they are all so cute! I was immediately partial to Hello Hunny which has the cutest bear who is enjoying her cup of joe and wanting to say "Hi!" For this card, I used the sketch challenge from Limelight Papercrafts and worked in some Labels 8 Nesties. I colored this adorable image with Copics and paper pieced her scarf since I love to be *matchy-matchy* (I was a teenager in the 80's so that explains a LOT!)

I did want to let you know that Creative Clear Stamps is having another Design Team call right now. You can find more details HERE. I enjoyed designing for CCS and cannot recommend Laura more...she has some of the best quality clear stamps and is just the sweetest to work with. I know she is looking for a fabulous new team and it could just be YOU! :o)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

CPS156

Thanks so much for the sweet comments from yesterday's post. I am very honored to have this opportunity as Guest Designer for Gina K. Designs and can't wait for my box of goodies... It is going to be a GREAT release and have so many ideas already :o)

I made this card using a Ribbon Flower tutorial from Mandy over at Limelight Papercrafts. They are so easy to make and I do believe you will be seeing many more. This is obviously not a good card to mail, but the perfect kind of hand deliver. The sketch for this is from CPS 156 and I love the Kraft cardstock with Lipstick Red, just a perfect blend :o)
Hope you have wonderful weekend!

I made this for the Card Patterns 53 sketch challenge. I used the stamp sets Lovely Labels and Bold Flowers and I was going to write more about it...BUT......

Pinch, pinch, pinch...(no it is not St. Patrick's Day...) I saw THIS and about fell out of the computer chair! Oh my goodness...and yes, I am doing a Happy Dance..and no it is still NOT pretty, but it is a *happy* dance all the same! :o) I am so stoked I can hardly believe it... I have been a huge Gina K. Designs fan since June 2008 and to have this honor of being the GKD Center Stage Designer is a dream come true for me ;o) Thank you so much Gina for this fabulous opportunity and I hope I do Gina K. Designs proud! The entries for this contest were/are just fabulous and I was greatly inspired by them all.

Before you go...Gina K. Designs will be doing another Illustrator Blog Hop/Center Stage Contest next month so I encourage you to try out....I just know it is going to be so much fun!
